WORKING WITH RESIDENT LEADERS
GO-HNI seeks to eliminate the physical and social causes of community deterioration by:
- Providing housing assistance in Oshkosh neighborhoods through previously purchasing and rehabbing decrepit homes.
- Providing home maintenance and code compliance education, in partnership with the City of Oshkosh, to community residents to prevent deterioration of housing;
- Collaborating with neighborhood residents and municipal governments to develop renewal plans and strategies for plan implementation in Oshkosh neighborhoods;
- Educating residents on best practices for community building and engagement strategies to capitalize on neighborhood assets and promote inclusive, diverse, clean, safe, and friendly neighborhoods;
- Attracting private capital to leverage public investments in our partner neighborhoods; and Improving physical conditions of public areas by pairing with residents and local leaders to beautify public spaces (parks, streets, sidewalks, monuments, public right of ways, etc.)
- Providing access to beautification grants through the Good Neighbor Grant and city grant opportunities.
STEVENS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION PROJECT

Starting in February, 2020 we had Frankfort Friday’s on the first Friday of each month. We invited volunteers to help with a variety of clean-up and prep jobs as we did the rehab. Thank you to Muza Metal Products for supplying a volunteer crew in March! Thank you Stevens Park Neighborhood volunteers for donating and planting the flower beds. We are hopeful to continue neighborhood development through individual grant opportunities and neighborhood clean up events.
